Owners of Spanish newspapers start translation company
Owners of the Spanish Journal newspaper chain have formed a new company to conduct Spanish-language translations.
Operating under the trade name Strategic Spanish, it translates employment manuals, Web site copy, legal documents and marketing materials that local firms use for Hispanic customers
"We're constantly working with clients who are struggling for this service. We see it every day," said Josh Guttman, co-owner of newspaper chain TSJ News Inc. and translation company Certified Spanish LLC.
Guttman and fellow investor Brian Wiles purchased a controlling stake in TSJ News in 2006, with the goal of expanding the Cincinnati publication to 20 U.S. cities. By the end of 2007, it tweaked its growth strategy with a new plan to buy - instead of build - newspapers in 10 to 15 Midwestern markets. A Columbus acquisition is expected to close in May. |
